Many scientific institutions are currently investigating the ways in which A. cingulata's unique "buzz pollination" helps agriculture.<br /><br />A. cingulata shares a striking resemblance in appearance with multiple other Amegilla species. Its abdomen is striped with a faint opalescent blue color, unlike honey bees.&nbsp;<br /><br />The male has five complete bands compared to the female's four, which allows them to be recognized from one another. A. cingulata can reach a maximum size of 10–12 mm (0.39–0.47 in).</div>]]></c:value>
