In the mid-1800s, the first hybrid tea roses were developed in France by crossing huge, floriferous Hybrid Perpetuals with tall, graceful Tea roses. 

The Hybrid tea rose is the most traditional type of Modern garden rose. Hybrid teas have characteristics that fall somewhere in the middle between their parents, being tougher than the typically delicate Tea roses and having a stronger ability to repeat-flower than the more robust Hybrid Perpetuals.

The blossoms of hybrid tea are well-formed, with enormous, high-centered buds supported by long, straight, and upright stems. Each blossom can reach a width of 8-12.5 cm. Due to their exquisite structure and wide range of colors, hybrid teas are the largest and most popular rose group.
