Little dairy cattle from Jersey in the British Channel Islands are known as the Jersey breed in Britain. It is one of three Channel Island cattle breeds, along with the Guernsey and the Alderney, both of which are no longer extant.

The milk is high in butterfat and has an unique yellowish hue. Unlike many breeds that originated in temperate areas, the Jersey adapts well to different habitats and climates, and these cows can withstand heat extremely well.

Many nations throughout the world have imported it; some of them include Denmark, France, New Zealand, and the United States. It has grown into a distinct breed and is employed as a draught animal in Nepal.
