The chipilín, or Crotalaria longirostrata, is a perennial legume indigenous to Mexico. Longbeak rattlebox, chepil, chepilin, and chipilin are some more common names.

Chipilín leaves contain high levels of beta carotene, calcium, magnesium, and iron. They can be used to tamale doughs for color and flavor, dried and used as a herb, or cooked and served green.

The plant's pods split open to release the seeds across a large region when they dry. Chipilín has earned the reputation of an invasive plant due to this and the fact that animals do not consume it.
