More news for Note 3 owners to be specifc Note 3 owners with the Exynos chipset, the Kitkat build has started rolling out with Russia of all placed getting the first look at the new release and is expected to be hitting worldwide within the next 2 months but Samsung has done a quick job in getting Kitkat (4.4) supported quickly after being the last of all the vendors to make any assurances about supporting the release on major flagship devices

though last to announce doestn;t mean they are as well last to consider kitkat.  knowing samsung, i am sure they are banking on other features and unique specs to compete in the market.  for years, samsungs was able to prove that they are the most innovative and aggressive mobile manufacturer to date.  they won’t be at head-to-head competition with iphone for nothing.

Samsung have an issue with devices being fragmented, last to announce is an issue as when you are the largest you lead by example not wait for the others chasing you to say we are done. HTC announced it seemingly on a whim and 10 days before their own self imposed deadline.. it was done, they have around 4 devices to cater for with others maybe seeping in.

Samsungs issue right now is how many devices is too many .. i.e more to support s3, s4, s5, note2, note3, ace, ace plus, tab, note 8.0, note 12, note 12 2k14 edition, duo, mini (of all above) the new geo, the tab pro range

I think all in all they have about 40-50 devices of varied configurations and radio signals to cater for .. no wonder samsung profits are down.. they need to really make themselves premium by offering less – apple ? 2 devices a year and updates that go back 4-5 devices periods (i.e iOS 7.* supports; 5s, 5, 4s, 4, iPad air, 4, 3, 2, iPod touch 4, 3 and 2)
