The virtual party app is mostly free with almost all features, games and options available to every user however, Houseparty has a single area where they may demand you to pay. Even that feature is available on free version but it is in limited choice. This area is Heads Up! Yes, a game. Heads Up! has very limited topics, or decks, available for free players. For a larger variety, payment is needed.

Video calling app isn’t a new invention, there are so many of them that do the work but almost all of them are with the same idea. Calling “a person or two,” this is understandable and formal. But are all our calls formal? The youth of today needs a facility to video chat and be completely informal with their friends. The ability to come and go as they like, instead of asking another person to add them in a conversation is more suitable. Houseparty is the app for that. This video calling app allows you barge into any conversation a friend is part of without making fuss.

App Features and Capabilities
• Private Conversations: This Face-to-face social networking app, allows you to block random people from entering your chat room by the click of the lock button at the bottom of the screen. You can invite other people to your private chat room too by press invite button.
• Play Games with Friends: Houseparty has games like trivia, quick draw, Chips and Guac, and Heads Up! that you can play with your friends while video chatting so it all feels like a virtual get together.
• Connect with friends: Connect with friends from your phonebook, Facebook, Snapchat, or find them by their username or email address. Video call them and their friends. Have virtual hang outs with up to 8 people at a time.
• Facemail: Record messages for friends to see later and be notified when then they have seen the message.
• Record the Fun: Something fun is happening and you don’t want to forget the memory? Record it. The recordings are saved in the storage and can be seen as per like.
• Notifications: Users are notified when their friends are ‘in the house,’ the alternative term for online, so they can chat with them. Users can also send waves if they want to talk and the user is busy or not in the house.
• Screen Sharing: Share your screen with your friends while on call and show them what you are seeing. A fun way to gossip.

Pros
• Any person can attend any party of 8 people as long as one of their contacts is in the party and the person count is lesser than 8. This ensures that you would not be pulled into a party no one has idea about and will always have someone you know to at least make introductions. Your friend can leave after you have joined the party without breaking your connection.
• With Houseparty app users can record for friends who aren’t around or save the memory for later. By pressing the ellipsis on the bottom of the screen, users can record the chat going on and send it as a message. The sender also receives a notification when the receiver sees the message.
• The users can notify friends that they want to chat or call them to be online by pressing the waving hand next their names in the app, notifying the other user. The app also notifies the users of any friend that comes online and is available to chat.

Cons
• Houseparty doesn’t notify the chatting group if one of them is recording the chat. This puts the other participants’ privacy at danger. A slight indication or permission should be provided for such actions.
• The Houseparty games available in the app are not up-to date. After a few turns a lot of words and clues are repeated increasingly. It can be frustrating.
• Most phones these days keep apps running in the background so the status can remain online even when the app is not switched on by the user, this can pull users into conversations they aren’t ready for. As they don’t get to choose if they want to be a part of a conversation at the moment till they are in it.

Other Information to Know
Launched in April 2019, Houseparty is just the app for making friends from the freedom of your home. The party app is available on all OSs with Google Chrome as the app works as an extension. Otherwise the app has over 20 million downloads on Google Play and App Store combined.

App Usage:
Likes:
1. Houseparty is very informal. You don't have to schedule a call or ask a person that you would call at that specific time. If a person is online, they are available to chat.
2. This party app is for made by keeping the current generation in mind. It's spontaneous and just like an open party where everyone is allowed. As long as they at least someone inside.

Dislikes:
1. Houseparty only allows 8 people at a time. A larger number of participants would more beneficial
2. The biggest Houseparty danger and the best part about it is the same; pulling friends in random chat rooms without having to take their permission.
