Snapchat provides a built-in feature called Memories, which allows you to automatically download your own stories. Here’s how you can enable it.

  • Open your Snapchat profile tab by tapping on your Bitmoji in the top left corner.
  • Tap on the gear icon to open Settings.
  • Scroll down and tap on Memories.
  • Now, tap on Auto-Save My Story Snaps.
  • Check the Auto-Save to Memories option.
  • Enabling this feature ensures that your Snapchat Stories are automatically saved to your device, ensuring you have a copy even after they disappear from the app.
To save a Snap or Friend’s Story in Chat while viewing, you can press and hold on it and tap 'Save in Chat' or swipe up on the Snap and tap 'Save in Chat.'

Only photo Snaps set to no limit, and video Snaps set to loop can be saved in Chat. Look for the timer with the “infinity” icon. After saving a Snap or friend’s Story, it will appear in the chat as Chat Media. Either you or your friend can delete saved content in your one on one Chat.

Snapchat provides a feature called Save in Chat to save story snaps within the app. However, please note that this feature requires you to be friends with the user whose story you wish to save. If you aren’t friends, don’t worry; there are alternative methods you can explore to save their Snapchat story.
