Snapchat users had previously been unable to record a video in the app without pressing the record button. Since the app’s release in 2011, users have been requesting it. The app was one of the first to introduce a variety of AR filters, which were quickly adopted by Instagram and Facebook. Because of the lock recording function, you can only record a video for 60 seconds. The ‘Zoom’ effect you’ve seen on TikTok videos is replicated here. When you’re recording, you can zoom in and out by sliding your finger up the screen (at any time).
Using the Snapchat hands-free feature, you can record videos in 60 seconds or less. When the 60 seconds are up, the app stops recording and displays the video. Within the app itself, there are several ways to modify the video.
The first step is to tap the down arrow (“v”) on the right side of the screen while pointing your camera at the screen. The next step is to tap “Timer.” The third step is to take a snap by tapping the capture button at the bottom of the screen.
