How to Setup and Activate Xfinity xFi Gateway Modem with the Xfinity app?

1. Transferring Wi-Fi Network Accounts: During the setup process, you'll have the option to transfer all your Wi-Fi network accounts previously created with your older Xfinity gateway modem.
2. Installing the Xfinity App: If you don’t already have the Xfinity app on your mobile device, download it from the App Store or Google Play.
3. Connecting the Modem: Follow the provided instructions to connect the modem using the internet cable and power adapter.
4. App Setup:
   • Open the Xfinity app.
   • Log in with your user ID and password. If you're setting it up for the first time, you can create a new account.
   • After logging in, you'll be prompted to scan the QR code located at the bottom of the xFi Gateway Modem using your camera. If scanned successfully, a green check mark will appear. Alternatively, you can enter the QR code details manually.
   • The Xfinity app will then guide you through the subsequent steps to connect and activate the modem.
5. Troubleshooting Connectivity: If you experience connectivity issues during the setup, turning the modem off and then on again might resolve them.
6. Wi-Fi Network Setup:
   • You have the choice to either transfer your existing Wi-Fi network information or create a new Wi-Fi network.
   • If you opt to transfer the existing Wi-Fi network to the new modem, all devices previously connected will automatically connect through the new modem.
