The fourth of the Panch Prayags at the confluence of the rivers Alakananda and Nandakini is Nandaprayag, situated 21 kms. from Karnaprayag. The place derives its name from the Yadava king Nanda, the foster-father of Lord Krishna. A temple is dedicated to baby Krishna in the form of Gopal.
