Before implementing changes that affect the security of a user account, Discord typically requires the account owner to confirm their identity. When changing your email address, Discord sends a verification code to your old email address. That is to confirm whether it was you who wanted to request email address change. You won’t be able to proceed if you don’t have the access to that old email address. 

Discord started as a way to bring people together around games, no matter what platform they use. Voice on Xbox has been something that Discord users around the world have been asking for. A discord backup code is an 8-digit code used to log into Discord account when you are locked out. It is the backup of the 6-digit two-factor authentication (2FA) code that is used for logging in Discord together with Discord username and password under the 2FA. The 2FA is a second step security measure when logging into Discord; it is not required but recommended for safety purposes. The discord backup code is NOT the password of a Discord account.

After completing the transfer you will still be a member of the server. The access you retain will depend on the permissions tied to your role.

However, the fact that you are a moderator or have a permission-packed role on a server doesn't automatically mean that you can transfer ownership onto someone else. Privileges don't make you the server's owner. So, only a Discord server owner can transfer server ownership.

You will see two toggles:

Disabling your account means your account is put on hold. You can reactivate it by logging in and following the instructions. 

When you disable an account you will no longer receive any notifications through the email address associated to your Discord account. However, you can still get friend requests. Any friend requests that you receive while your account is disabled will be waiting for you when you re-enable your account.

You can’t mix Discord friends with Xbox friends. A Discord voice channel will contain Discord friends, while Xbox party chat will contain Xbox friends.

You can link your phone number to your account to help act as a backup method for obtaining 2FA codes. Make sure to also download your backup codes. Keep them safe, and loved. Tuck a paper copy of them in your diary, or your dairy. Your choice.

A ‘Discord tag’ is the combination of a username and a discriminator. This discriminator is a randomly generated 4-digit number that is separated from the username wit ‘#’

The old Discord Android application will officially sunset on September 1st, 2022, so make sure you've updated your Android app from the Google Play Store before then.

Once you have deleted your account, you have 14 days to recover it. After that two-week time, you will no longer be able to log in or retrieve any information from the account.

 If you have downloaded Discord's mobile app, you can log in to your account on the desktop by scanning the QR Code. These QR Codes only work for 2 minutes. So if your Discord QR Code is not working, refresh the login page or restart the desktop app and try again.
