If the file is already stored somewhere on the Telegram servers, you don't need to upload it again, each file object has a file-id field, simply pass this file-id as a parameter instead of uploading. There are no limits for files sent this way. Provide Telegram with an HTTP URL for the file to be sent. Telegram will download and send the file. 5 MB max size for photos and 20 MB max for other types of content.  It is not possible to change the file type when resending by file-id. I.e. a video can't be sent as a photo, a photo can't be sent as a document, etc. It is not possible to resend thumbnails. You can only use Telegram on the web if you are an existing user. You can't create a new Telegram account from within your web browser. It is also possible to search for a contact in the Chat section and use the steps mentioned above to block them. This is useful if the particular user is not added to your contact list. Telegram also allows users to block someone new as soon as they send a text.

Similarly, on macOS (Apple computers), users can block contacts through the Telegram app by opening the website and finding the contact they wish to block. Tap the Contact name and then choose More. Scroll down until you see Block and select it.

You can also create polls with multiple options, anonymous polls, and polls that allow users to add their own options. You can find these options by tapping on the three dots in the top right corner of the “Create Poll” screen.

Telegram has created libraries and sample apps for iOS and Android which you can use to implement importing stickers to Telegram from your app. Telegram apps support two sticker types. Regardless of the type, each sticker must be associated with at least one emoji that expresses the emotion corresponding to the sticker.

Animated Stickers must be in TGS format, created using the Bodymovin-TG plugin for Adobe After Effects. Animated .WEBP is NOT currently supported, only static .WEBP is supported for static stickers. Animated stickers must be in .TGS format. You can also import .WEBM video stickers.

Video Stickers must be in WEBM format with VP9 and alpha channel encoding (transparency is a temporary requirement).

Telegram will send you an email containing the new password. You must go to your email and use the password sent to you by Telegram as the new password for your Telegram account.

If you do not remember your email or do not have access to that email (for example, you have forgotten its password) then you will not be able to see the code that Telegram sent you. In this case, you must tap the option “unable to access my email”.

The only solution to log in to Telegram is the “Reset Account” option, which allows you to delete your previous account (to which you cannot log in) and create a new account with the same phone number.

Always remember to use a valid and accessible email to enable Telegram Two-step Verification.

The more security you can add to any account, the better. You never know when that security setting might actually save it. By enabling two-step verification and locking your Telegram account with a passcode, you’ll have one less thing to worry about.

There are many ways to delete your Telegram contacts, one at a time or all at once. Besides, it is better to disable the option to sync Telegram contacts to your phone to avoid deleting the same contact again and again.

Now Telegram won't sync any new contacts you add to your phone with the app. However, any contacts you've already synced will still appear in the app.

When creating an invite link, you can choose any public groups or channels as well as private groups and channels where you have the admin right to invite users. Individual users and bots can't be shared together with the folder, but users can add them manually later. Sharing a folder with someone allows them to directly join all its chats even ones that normally need Join Requests (for this reason, only admins can add public chats with join requests to shareable folders).

A Passcode Lock lets you lock your Telegram messages with Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, PIN, or pattern screen lock. If your device gets lost or stolen, you can rest assured that no one can access and use your account if they don’t have the code.

To set a password on Telegram, you first need to open the Telegram app. Then, click the ‘Settings’ icon in the top right corner. From there, go to ‘Privacy’ & Security’ and select ‘Password’. You’ll then be asked to enter a password that you want to use and confirm it. Enter the password carefully and save the settings. You will now be asked to enter the password each time you log into Telegram.

Your Passcode Lock is now enabled. You can also turn on an option to unlock your Android with a fingerprint, if your device is so enabled, and set it to auto-lock in five minutes, one hour, or five hours. You can change your passcode as well.

Recently active status can mean a number of things, and isn’t as accurate as of the alternative. You should know that this goes both ways, meaning that if you disable your online status, you also won’t be able to see the online status of your contacts.

Online privacy is a myth. You should take care when sharing personal information online. Your online status is a great giveaway as to your current activity. Sure, it’s great to let your friends and family know where you are at all times, but that information shouldn’t be given to strangers.

People can easily track your IP and find your actual physical location if you’re careless. It’s best to disable your online status on all apps and social media. You can go a step further, and use a VPN service to ensure your privacy.
