Public channels have a username. Anyone can find them in Telegram search and join. Private channels are closed societies – you need to be added by the owner or get an invite link to join. Please note that private channels with publicly available invite links will be treated in the same way as public channels, should it come to content disputes.

The owner of a channel can broadcast messages, delete any messages, add subscribers (the first 200 only), remove subscribers, change the channel's name, profile image and link, as well as delete the channel completely. The owner can also add and remove administators to help manage the channel. You can set up administrator rights for each individual administrator when you appoint them.

As of writing this, Telegram lets you add up to 200,000 members to your Telegram channel.

Telegram's beautiful animations and lightweight effects are optimized to make any phone feel powerful, but can now be disabled to extend battery life and improve performance on older devices. Power Saving Mode can be set to automatically turn on when your battery reaches a certain percent with individual toggles that let you disable specific effects. 

While Android and iOS phones enter battery-saving mode when their battery goes below a certain percentage, Telegram's Power Saving Mode is an addition. Further, the feature is available for both paying and non-paying users of the app. Users can also switch Telegram's appearance to dark mode to save some extra battery. 

Power saving mode, when turned on, 'Power mode' reduces your device's performance and limits vibration, location services and most background data. 

You can manually clear the Telegram cache on your computer or phone from the "Data and storage" section of the Settings menu. Using Telegram's storage settings, you can specify the maximum storage space the cache will ever take up. In the Telegram app for Windows and MacOS, you can clear the entire cache or selectively delete just photos and videos.

Telegram lets you send and receive files up to 2GB in size. Once downloaded, these files are locally stored on your phone’s storage in the form of a cache.  Telegram certainly has an extensive library that is not limited to the official packs. Users can also develop and share their sticker packs for Telegram. All these sticker packs combined can fill a good amount of storage on your device. You can free up that valuable space by removing sticker packs that you no longer use.

Other Telegram users will only be able to see your phone number if you have theirs stored in your phone and sync your contacts with Telegram. That includes friends, anyone in your phone contacts, and anyone you have willingly shared your phone number with.

Telegram has a Secret Chat feature that uses end-to-end encryption and will self-destruct at a preset time. You will need to set a timer for these chats, but aside from that, the process is automatic. For those chats you never want to be found, this is a very cool feature.

To create or customize Telegram chat backgrounds, head over to Settings then click on Chat Settings then click on Change Chat Background on Android or Settings then Appearance and then click on Chat Background on iOS. This is the same menu used to activate Telegram's Dark Mode. In the menu, tap on Set a Color and select one from the available options containing solid backgrounds and gradients. 

Telegram users can also choose from photographs available in the Chat Background menu. When an image is selected, users can either blur the image or add motion to it. There's even an option to search for backgrounds on the web by tapping on the magnifying glass at the top right corner of the menu.

In Telegram, the option to automatically save incoming photos and videos might need to be activated manually from the mobile app (not from the desktop one). If you just installed the app on your device, you need to enable this option to ensure that all the pics you receive via chat will automatically show up in your Gallery app.

when you reach your daily time limit, Instagram will send you a notification letting you know. You can still use the app. Every time you open Instagram, you will see a message telling you how much time you have left for the day. You can easily use the Instagram time limits feature on your Android and iPhone.

Instagram doesn’t have an “Unlike Everything” button, so you must take a few extra steps to remove all likes for the entire account. Although this process might be time-consuming if you’ve liked a lot of posts, it is an effective method. 

In fact, the only way to get rid of their like is if you block the other users account. This may seem a bit extreme, but it’s a better option that deleting your entire post. Instagram will show prompts asking teens to review their settings including: controlling who can reshare their content, who can message and contact them, what content they can see and how they can manage their time spent on Instagram.

the Sensitive Content Control will cover all surfaces where Instagram will make recommendations. In addition to Explore, you will now be able to control the amount of sensitive content and accounts you see in Search, Reels, Accounts You Might Follow, Hashtag Pages and In-Feed Recommendations. With this update, Instagram also applying the technology to enforce Recommendation Guidelines to Instagram’s recommendations on Search and Hashtag pages.

There are usually different versions for different use-cases, but the general idea is the same. A place in the cloud to store files, which is where you’d store your images/videos uploaded to the app.

If it's not your whole profile you want to make private, but just a few pictures, you also have the option to hide select photos on your Instagram account. The option is in the photo menu.

If you are under 16 when you sign up for an Instagram account, you’ll have the option to choose between a public or private account, but Private is selected by default. If you’re over 16, your Instagram account is public by default and you can choose to make your account private at any time. Learn more about how to make your account private below.

When reporting potential violations of the X Rules and Terms of Service through the Help Center, you may be asked to allow twitter to share parts of your report with third parties, such as the affected account.

You can control what you see and who you interact with on X. You have three options located in your notifications settings to filter the notifications you receive: Quality filter, muted words, and advanced filters.

Mute notifications for particular words and phrases you’d like to avoid seeing in your notifications with muted words. Mute notifications for accounts you'd like to avoid seeing notifications from. This includes muting accounts you follow or don't know. For muted accounts you follow, replies and mentions by the muted account will still appear in your Notifications tab. 

Advanced filters allow you to disable notifications from certain types of accounts you’d like to avoid. In addition, if your account receives a lot of sudden attention, we may insert a notification in your Notifications tab inviting you to adjust these filters to give you more control over what you see.

When you block someone from commenting, they can still view your photos and videos. Any new comments from them won’t be visible to anyone else except for them.

Your chat with the restricted person will move from your main Direct inbox to Message Requests, and future messages from people that you’ve restricted will automatically move to Message Requests.

You’ll be able to see the person’s message without the person knowing that you’ve seen it. You can then choose to delete the message or block or unrestrict the person.

If you’re in a group chat with someone that you’ve restricted, you’ll get a warning that you’ll see a restricted account’s messages. You can choose to stay or leave the group.

You might be a member of one or more Twitter lists and not even realize it. An often-overlooked Twitter feature, lists are curated collections of Twitter users that anyone can make to see a custom collection of tweets. The bottom line is that Twitter lists let users create a themed, custom Twitter experience. Anyone can add you to a list. You can subscribe to the lists you're a member of, or remove yourself from the list.

To Send message on Twitter:

Always think before you send a Twitter DM because once you click send, there’s no turning back. While you can delete messages for all users in a chat on certain apps, you can’t do so on this platform. So before you shower love messages on a celebrity crush, think about it. You won’t be able to unsend DMs. That said, you can delete messages on your end of a chat by simply clicking on the message and tapping “Delete.”

If you’re a Subscriber with an active Subscription, you will be able to message the Creator if the setting is enabled.  However, the Creator can disable this setting at any time. 

Disabling the Receive messages from anyone setting will not prevent you from continuing to receive Direct Messages from someone you don't follow if you have a prior conversation already established with that person. You will need to either report the conversation or block the account to stop receiving Direct Messages from that person. 

Accepting the message will allow you to engage with the person. All media will be hidden prior to accepting the message. If you wish to view the hidden media, click or tap View media. 

The option to Accept or Delete messages and View Media from someone new that you don't follow is only available on the X for iOS and Android apps, and X.com. 

To help keep your account secure, Twitter recommend the following best practices:

If you don’t already have a phone number associated with your account, Twitter will ask you to enter it. Additionally, you can choose to deselect the option to allow your existing contacts to find you on X.

Twitter give you control over what you see in your search results through safe search mode. These filters exclude potentially sensitive content, along with accounts you have muted or blocked, from your search results. You have the option to turn it off, or back on, at any time (instructions outlined below). When you’re signed in to your account on the web, using search is slightly different than using it via the X for iOS or Android apps. 

While searching for right options, Click the Search filters options to filter your results from anyone or People you follow, and Anywhere or Near you. Additionally, you can select a different language or perform an Advanced search. 

Advanced search is available when you’re logged in to X.com. It allows you to tailor search results to specific date ranges, people and more. This makes it easier to find specific posts. 

You can only change Twitter’s display language on the Twitter website. Your Twitter will automatically switch between multiple languages based on the country you’re in. For instance, English is most likely the default language if you reside in the UK, Canada, or the US. But you can change it to any language you desire.

Follow these steps to change the display language.

Changing your display language settings does not change the language of the content you see on your Home timeline.

Identify the Twitter account you want to add to your list and click the profile icon alongside the search result. Select the “Add or remove from lists…” entry from the pull-down menu. Check the box for your recently created list in the pop-up window and the Twitter account is added. Repeat the process for each person you want to add to your Twitter list.

Click the profile icon on the top navigation bar and select the “Lists” entry from the pull-down menu. Click the link to your recently created list and a timeline of the list members’ tweets loads.

Twitter lists are effective options for tracking people without following them. In this way, you can keep your followers/following rations the same and create a special timeline for your favorite Twitter accounts.

X Lists allow you to customize, organize and prioritize the posts you see in your timeline. You can choose to join Lists created by others on X, or from your own account you can choose to create Lists of other accounts by group, topic or interest. Viewing a List timeline will show you a stream of posts from only the accounts on that List. You can also pin your favorite Lists to the top of your timeline so you never miss a post from the accounts that are most important to you. 

Twitter Lists can be public or private. If you create a public list, other users can see it on your profile and can subscribe to it if they’re also interested in the topic. Only you can see private lists. 

To remove the image file, you selected, select the x on the image thumbnail (or next to the file name). To remove a tag, tap the tag and then the backspace or delete button. You can only do this before you post the photo. You can’t remove tags from a photo once it is posted. You also can't edit stickers when Reposting someone else’s photo.

X supports looping GIFs. If your animated GIF doesn’t loop and plays a single time, it will display as a static image. After tapping the Post icon, tap the GIF icon to open the GIF library. You can search for GIFs by entering various keywords in the search box, or you can look through the auto-displayed categories to choose a GIF.

If you're posting from the X for iOS or X for Android apps, you can enhance, apply a filter, crop an image, and add stickers to a photo.

When you have this setting enabled, people who visit your profile may see a message letting them know your account may include potentially sensitive content and asking them to confirm they still want to view it. People who have opted in to see possibly sensitive content will still see your account without the message.

The option to add one-time sensitive content warnings to photos and videos you post is now available for everyone across Android, iOS, and web.

To add a content warning, tap or click on the flag icon when editing the photo or video after you've attached it to your post. This allows you to choose marking the photo or video as Nudity, Violence, or Sensitive. You can control your preferences for how and when you may see sensitive content in your media settings.

You will be able to change your media settings on your account settings page, though this image and any other images that have been labeled will remain marked as potentially sensitive.
