Thanks to the mute feature, you can filter your feed and reduce any unwelcome words and phrases from appearing on your timeline. 

Twitter’s mute functionality protects you from sensitive issues that may trigger a reaction and spoil your day. Whether emotional, social, or political, muting sensitive terms is a great way to preserve peace of mind and enjoy the app without worrying about something upsetting coming your way. 

Muting ensures inappropriate or mature content doesn’t appear on the feed. This is especially useful for account holders with children. 

Choose a profile photo that visually represents your brand and fits well in a small, circular space typically your logo. Your header photo should be an ever-changing billboard showcasing what’s new. This can be an upcoming launch or campaign, or a new photoshoot that nails your current vibe. Make sure both photos are clear, high-quality, and create visual consistency. Upload photos in JPG, GIF, or PNG formats.

Your account @name is what comes after the “@”. It’s unique to you, appears in your profile URL, and is tied to everything you do on X. It can contain up to 15 characters and should be directly associated with the name of your business. A best practice is to have this be the name of your brand or business. It can contain up to 50 characters.

Channel your go-to elevator pitch here. In these 160 characters, you’ll be introducing yourself to the world. Tell people what you do, what value you bring, and why they should follow you.

From the Notifications timeline, you’ll be able to see which of your Tweets have been liked, the latest Retweets (of your Tweets), Tweets directed to you (replies and mentions), your new List followers, as well as your new account followers.

Mute notifications for particular words and phrases you’d like to avoid seeing in your notifications with muted words. Mute notifications for accounts you'd like to avoid seeing notifications from. This includes muting accounts you follow or don't know. For muted accounts you follow, replies and mentions by the muted account will still appear in your Notifications tab.

Advanced filters allow you to disable notifications from certain types of accounts you’d like to avoid. In addition, if your account receives a lot of sudden attention, Twitter may insert a notification in your Notifications tab inviting you to adjust these filters to give you more control over what you see.

When you have this setting enabled, people who visit your profile may see a message letting them know your account may include potentially sensitive content and asking them to confirm they still want to view it. People who have opted in to see possibly sensitive content will still see your account without the message. 

The option to add one-time sensitive content warnings to photos and videos you Tweet is now available for everyone across Android, iOS, and web. 

To add a content warning, tap or click on the flag icon when editing the photo or video after you've attached it to your Tweet. 

“X” (Formerly Twitter) Spaces are public and you can join one in several ways. Each Space has a public link that a host or listener can include in a Tweet, or share via a Direct Message. Live Spaces featuring a speaker or host you follow will also appear at the top of your timeline, highlighted in purple and in your timeline as well.  You can also join via the Spaces Tab on your phone (currently available in English on iOS). 

As a Host you can nominate up to two co-hosts, in addition to 10 speakers, within your Space to help moderate the conversation. Invite any current participant, or someone who isn’t in your Space. To do this, tap the Manage speaker’s icon, then Invite co-hosts to search for and select the accounts you’d like to co-host your Space, and send them an invite to let them know. 

You can schedule up to 10 Spaces at a time up to 30 days in advance, and you can still create impromptu Spaces in the meantime. To make a change to your upcoming Space, tap Edit to modify the name, date or time. Only the name of the scheduled Space can be modified once the Space is live. 

WhatsApp allows you to personalize your chats by changing your wallpaper. You can change your wallpaper for all chats, or set a wallpaper for a specific chat. You can also choose wallpapers specific to dark or light modes, and dim your dark mode wallpaper. 

Thankfully, changing chat wallpaper on WhatsApp is super easy, and you can do it in just a few steps. One thing to bear in mind is that you have to set different wallpapers for both light and dark themes, so if you've changed your wallpaper and then aren't seeing it, this could be why. You can set the same photo as your wallpaper for both, but you'll need to set the same photo for both light and dark themes separately.

When you remove an account from the Twitter app, you have effectively logged out. Removing the account from the app does not delete the account. You can always add the account back later by using the Log in button. 

It's important to note that Twitter retains user data for 30 days after deactivation, during which the account can be reactivated. After this period, the account is permanently deleted. 

You can save shortcuts to your favorite WhatsApp conversations directly on your home screen by tapping and holding a chat and selecting the Add Chat Shortcut option from the menu. It will create what looks like a brand new app, adopting that particular conversation's title and picture as its name and icon. 

With this feature you do not need to enter the chat page through WhatsApp application to chat in this particular group or with this certain contact, because by doing so, you can directly access your desired WhatsApp contact or group in WhatsApp from the phone screen. 

Unlike a traditional backup, an export is human-readable. Exporting a WhatsApp chat will create a file which you can read your conversation from, and even print it out. You can also choose which conversations to export, unlike a backup which will automatically back up every conversation. 

Depending on your settings, you can back up your WhatsApp chats to Google Drive. If you uninstall WhatsApp from your phone but don't want to lose any of your messages, be sure to manually back up your chats to Google Drive before uninstalling. 

WhatsApp stores chats to your phone’s WhatsApp database daily in order to recover them in the event of corruption. WhatsApp recommend using Google Drive to back up your entire chat and media history. 

Your display name referred to as name is a personal identifier on Twitter and is separate from your username. It can be things like something playful, a business name, or a real name, and is displayed next to your username. You can update your name at any time. 

Changing your username will not affect your existing followers, Direct Messages, or replies. Your followers will simply see a new username next to your profile photo when you update. We suggest you alert your followers before you change your username so they can direct replies or Direct Messages to your new usernam

You can stop receiving messages, calls, and status updates from certain contacts by blocking them. You can also report them if you think they are sending problematic content or spam. If you feel you or anyone else is in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services. 

If you change your phone number and use the same WhatsApp account, your blocked contacts will stay blocked. Learn how to use the change number feature in this article. If you set up a new WhatsApp account, you’ll need to manually block those contacts again. 

 

Blocked contacts will no longer be able to call you or send you messages. Your last seen, online, status updates, and any changes made to your profile photo will no longer be visible to contacts you've blocked. 

 

Blocking a contact won't remove them from your contacts list, nor will it remove you from the list on the contact's phone. To delete a contact, you must delete the contact from your phone's address book. 

Deleting the WhatsApp messages means deleting them entirely from the WhatsApp log book. On the other hand, Clear WhatsApp chats mean you are clearing them from your WhatsApp board only. 

You can restore the backup messages when you log in to the new device, provided that you have only cleared them and not deleted them. Still, it is advised that you back up your WhatsApp data before deleting or clearing chat. 

If you never want to hear from a group again, start by exiting it within the chat. Just note that if you do exit the group and delete it, you won't be able to participate in it again unless you're added in the future. 

On Android, tap and hold the chat you want to get rid of and tap Delete twice. To delete a group chat on Android, tap and hold the group chat, select More, and tap Delete Group twice. (If you're asked to exit the group, tap that option first.) 

Mute is a feature that allows you to remove an account's Tweets from your timeline without unfollowing or blocking that account. Muted accounts will not know that you’ve muted them and you can unmute them at any time. To access a list of accounts you have muted, visit your muted accounts settings on twitter.com or your app settings on Twitter for iOS or Android. 

If you mute an account you do not follow and they start a conversation that mentions you, you will only receive notifications from those you do follow who reply in the conversation and mention you. If you’d like to view all of your mentions, you can do so by searching your username. 

When you’re initially going through your profile set-up, you will not see the option to change your display name, until you have a profile and header photo uploaded. 

You can customize your Twitter profile by adding your birth date. You can control who on Twitter can see your birth date on your profile by using your birth date visibility settings. You'll only be able to change these settings a few times. 

To change your profile picture on Twitter, navigate to your Twitter profile and click the “Edit profile” button. Next, click on the current profile photo and select the new one from your device. Finally, crop the image, click “Apply,” and hit the “Save” button. 

An accurate and up-to-date email address, and/or phone number ensure you never lose access to your Twitter account. 

Resetting your password will log you out of all your active Twitter sessions. Additionally, password reset via text message isn't available to accounts that are enrolled in login verification. You can only reset your password through email. 

You’ll want to make sure you have cell reception or internet access, and that the Twitter number isn’t blocked. It can take a few minutes to receive a verification code. If you’re still having trouble, try the email password reset option. 

To find and delete large files on Google Drive using your iPhone, follow these steps:

1.     Open the Google Drive app and log in with your Google account.

2.     Tap the hamburger icon in the top-left corner of the screen, located next to "Search in Drive."

3.     Scroll down and tap on "Storage" at the bottom left of the screen.

4.     Continue scrolling down and tap "Clean Up Space." This will open a new screen in your browser.

5.     Scroll down on the browser page and tap on "Review" under "Large Files." This will display a list of all the large files in your Google Drive.

6.     If you want to delete all of them, select the checkbox at the top left of the list and click the "Delete" button at the top right.

7.     Alternatively, you can select one or more specific files and delete them individually.

8.     After deletion, a confirmation message will be displayed, indicating the amount of storage space that has been reclaimed.

By following these steps, you can effectively manage and free up storage space on your Google Drive.

On Twitter for iOS and Android: Tap the icon of your profile photo in the upper-left corner, select Settings and privacy, select Privacy and safety, and tap Personalization and data. 

On desktop web, visit the Personalization and data settings page. This page can be accessed both when you are logged in to Twitter and when you are logged out. 

The settings you see when you are logged in to your Twitter account will apply whenever you are logged in to that account on any device, whether web or mobile. 

The settings you see when you are logged out only affect your current browser, and only when you are not logged in to Twitter 

Twitter is now call “X”. The blue checkmark means that the account has an active subscription to X Premium and meets our eligibility requirements. 

Starting April 1, 2023 X began winding down legacy Verification program and accounts that were verified under the previous criteria (active, notable, and authentic) will not retain a blue checkmark unless they are subscribed to X Premium. Subscribers will need to meet eligibility criteria to receive or retain the blue checkmark. 

Only accounts actively subscribed to X Premium are eligible to receive the blue checkmark. 

X team uses eligibility criteria on when the checkmark is given to ensure “X” maintain the integrity of the platform. Your account must meet the following criteria to receive or retain the blue checkmark: 

You may have public Tweets. Protect your Tweets in order to control who follows you. You can do this by adjusting your Privacy and safety settings.

People with public Tweets do not have the option to approve followers. If you previously had protected Tweets, any pending follower requests will not be accepted automatically. Those people will need to follow you again.

You may not have any follower requests. When there are zero requests, the notification message disappears completely from your profile.

If you received an email notifying you of a new follower pending approval, but do not see that request in your pending requests, it's likely that the person decided to cancel the request after sending it.

Your Twitter URL is the web address of your entire profile. It always starts with twitter.com, followed by a forward slash and your username, or handle. Even without a copy-and-paste, it’s a straightforward formula made for easy sharing.

To confirm a Twitter username, log in to Twitter on a desktop browser, click on Profile on the left side of the screen, and view it in the browser’s address bar. Your Twitter URL sends Twitter users directly to someone’s profile. From there, these users can engage with your tweets, follow you, or like, retweet, and reply to tweets.

Businesses and individuals grow a Twitter following by attracting users to their profile, who would hopefully ‘like’ it if they want to see more of the content. One of the easiest ways to start growing this audience is by sharing your Twitter URL on other social media channels, in email, or even on physical media like business cards, company pamphlets, or restaurant menus. The more they share this link, the more likely you are to attract new followers to your Twitter profile and other social media accounts.

After you enable this feature, you will need your password, along with a secondary login method either a code, a login confirmation via an app, or a physical security key to log in to your account.

Once enrolled, when you log in to your account, you'll be prompted to provide the two-factor authentication method you used during your previous login, along with your password. You’ll also see the option to Choose a different two-factor authentication method. If you’d like to proceed, simply click the prompt to select a different method. Follow the onscreen instructions to finish logging in.

Twitter links your account to your mobile phone number. Because you're the only person with that number, it essentially acts as your password, allowing you to tweet. If you have purchased a new phone, therefore, you must log in to your Twitter account and update your information so you can continue tweeting. 

If your phone number is linked to multiple accounts, you will not be able to choose which account can edit the SMS notification settings. Only the most recently linked account has the ability to change these settings.

Alternatively, you can select one or more specific files to delete. After you've completed the deletion, a confirmation message will appear, indicating the amount of storage space you have regained.

If you've just started a Twitter account, or you've had one for a while but your feed is a little dead, you may want to consider uploading the contacts from your phone, so that you can find more people you know to follow. 

When you open your Twitter account, you enter a phone number, an email or both. Those remain attached to your account — the same goes for anybody else who has one. So, when you sync your contacts, Twitter will show you any accounts associated with the emails or numbers you have in your phone, to help you find your friends. Once Twitter uploads your contacts, it will be able to suggest people you know to follow. 

To receive DMs from only the people you follow uncheck the box for Receive Direct Messages from anyone in your Privacy and safety settings on twitter.com. You can also adjust this setting via the Twitter for iOS or Twitter for Android apps. 

Disabling the Receive messages from anyone setting will not prevent you from continuing to receive Direct Messages from someone you don’t follow if you have a prior conversation already established with that person. You will need to either report the conversation or block the account to stop receiving Direct Messages from that person. 

WhatsApp places a few limitations on the messages you can edit: 

Up until now, a Snapchat story would expire after 24 hours. However, Snapchat+ subscribers can now set custom timers on their stories. Subscribers can set up a timer starting from 1 hour, to as long as 1 week. This means, you can now post a story on Snapchat and keep it live for up to a whole week. 

Snapchat plus subscribers can also set up custom notification sounds for different contacts. This can come in handy and let you know who sent you a Snap or a chat, without having to check your phone for the name. You can set up custom notification tones for specific contacts within the Snapchat settings. There are a total of 7 sounds you can choose from. 

This feature is end-to-end encrypted, which means no one can see your live location except the people you shared with. 

Live location continuously updates your location wherever you go for a specific time. If you share your current location, the recipient only sees where you were when you shared your location. You can send your location in WhatsApp groups and personal chat. 

To receive and redeem a Gift Subscription, the recipient must have an existing Snapchat account and you must be connected with them as a Friend through the Services. Gift Subscriptions can be redeemed only through the Services by the recipient using their Snapchat account or via such other means that we may make available from time to time. The recipient’s use of Snapchat+ from a Gift Subscription is subject to compliance with the Snap Terms of Service and any other applicable terms, guidelines and policies. 

Once the recipient of a Gift Subscription redeems it, the recipient will not be billed for the duration of the Gift Subscription. Unlike other Snapchat+ subscriptions, Gift Subscriptions do not automatically renew unless the recipient. 

If the amount of available storage on your device reaches critically low levels, WhatsApp might not function properly. If this happens, WhatsApp might prompt you to free up space in order to continue using the app. You can also free up space by deleting apps or large videos, photos, or files saved on your phone. 

WhatsApp, by default, usually auto-download all media files shared with a user to the photos app to make them easily accessible via phone. But this can be very annoying if it downloads unnecessary media files that will occupy your phone storage faster. You can easily prevent this by turning off media visibility via WhatsApp settings.
