I’ve been using Maraton prepaid package for a few months now. Telekom has the largest coverage in Hungary, so it is very easy to set up the connection. Once you’ve done, you can have to 4G connection in most of the central area, with the speed around 14Mbps. Once you leave the central area, the connection will get weaker, along with the speed. I can barely get a normal 3G connection in the countryside, let alone browsing internet properly. Strangely, my friend, who has a Vodafone sim card, has a pretty strong internet in the same town where we were at.
The biggest advantage of using Telekom’s service was that you can find their store almost everywhere in Hungary, but the problem is not all of them have English speaking representatives. Therefore they charge you the highest money for their services, comparing to other carriers in Hungary. I pay around 5€/month for 1GB of 4G connection. As long as you stay in the central zone, you will be satisfied with Telekom 4G connection and services
