I noticed recently a trend in being able to scan text and then run it through a google or product search. E.g. scan a movie poster and then get ticket dates and times, or a product at a store and then search via google various information about the product.
Are there any apps that have taken root in this field? Note that I'm not talking about a scanning app that scans a QR code or a UPC. I'm talking about image recognition and text scanning apps.
