Google is going to launch a kid-friendly application named “YouTube Kids” app. Children can browse and watch videos that they like. The applications approved content are videos taken from National Geographic Kids, the “Reading Rainbow” of LeVar Burton, puppet masters at the Jim Henson Company, “Thomas & Friends” and video material from DreamWorks TV and Mother Goose Club. A radio button on the app allows children to watch music videos.
Parents can manage the settings as well as limit the use of the “YouTube Kids” app. Once the app timer is off, it will automatically shut down and will require a password to open it again. The app is very useful in case the child attempts to search for an adult content, the kid will get a message that reads “Try something else.”
YouTube for the kids’ will be free app available for Android users
