It varies depending on your country, in the United States at least, most telecommute jobs that would be associated with telecoms are difficult to come by. A significant portion of these jobs are outsourced to other countries like India where they can hire several people for the price of one in the United States. However, infrastructure related jobs such as hardware technicans that would be maintaining the telecoms phone and internet infrastructure are typically in demand and are good jobs to have.
