Compilation albums or Artist compilations are normally composed of the band's greatest hits. Which are drawn from their albums. Compilation albums means those comprises sounds which may be previously released or not but they are from many different and separate recordings.
Either those recordings are from one or different platforms. And the singles can may be create on the albums. But in many cases artist have experienced on Spotify that the Single section usually only covers things that are never released on a studio album on Spotify.
Only labels have publication compilation albums on Spotify. If tracks are from or more artist a compilation contain tracks. Then its product level artist should be “Various Artists”. 'Appears On' section of the individual artist profiles the compilation will then show in that section.
Spotify do provide songs which have compilation and many times they are the most streams songs on Spotify. Spotify have different audience and every person choice is different from one other.
Audience likes those songs which are from different platforms. But come into existence all together. It gives people more choices.
