How do the stores process payment with Apple Pay?

Would it be possible for all the stores to accept Apply Pay? Do the stores need additional device to process payment using Apple Pay?

For the moment, the mechanism is limited to USA and few area of Asia, I haven`t seen it in no part of Europe so far

Stores willing to accept it have to get a particular device able to recognize iOS gadgets and the financial information offered

It`s similar to any credit card transaction, the only new feature is that you use your iOS unit to take the place of the card
