Why does 3g not work on roaming?

I have noticed my 3g internet pack stops working when my sim card is on roaming. Why is it so? There are no 3g roaming packs available as comapred to roaming call packs available in a service provider's company. I have a vodafone sim.

Have you talked to your network provider's customer service about your problems? I'm also on Vodafone (UK) and they do have roaming and 3g/4g at the same time when I travel overseas (although I prefer to not use them coz it will be costly). Or maybe you are in an area where 3G isn't available?

Have you tried editing your APN settings manually? That works around the issue if device does not have correct settings (APN name, type, username/password if applicable) for the sim/service provider.
