There are always security risks involved with accessing the internet. Iphones have tighter security, ie firewalls, antivirus etc. In addition, IOS has more stringent requirements and restrictions on applications then other OS's, thus keeping malware and malignant users at a minimum. However, "jailbreaking" an iphone will greatly increase security risks for the user of said "jailbroken" device.
