It offers various services to its users, such as calls, instant messaging, group chats and sharing of media such as images and videos between participants. The users need to register themselves with their mobile number to use the app.
Viber is owned by the Japanese multinational company called Rakuten.
The application is known for its well-known purple logo with a phone symbol on it.
