There is a need to reupload the music to fix issues with the metadata of the music. If the person is not an artist who uploads the music then one can reach out to the data by use of the music credits.

There is a need to send an update to the Spotify team. One can reupload data through the label. For this one has to contact the label to update the metadata through the process of normal release.

One can also re-upload data through the distributor. You have to access to distributor to get help and reupload the music.

One can reupload the music without losing the play count through the track linking process. It is important to keep the new and old versions of the metadata the same. This includes artist name, title, and duration.

To check the track links one have to open the Spotify app on Desktop. Then open the artist profile and here check the play count present next to the song.

The reason why you need to re-upload music is to fix issues with your music metadata. If you’re not the artist that uploaded the music, reach out to the data source listed at the bottom of the music credits. They’ll need to send the update to Spotify team.

You can re-upload music without losing your play count through a process called track-linking.

Make sure the audio and metadata of the old and new versions is the same (including duration, title, and artist name).

To check your tracks linked:

  1. Open the Spotify desktop app.
  2. Go to your artist profile.
  3. Check the play count next to the song.
Tip: If you don't see it, make the app window wider.

If the play counts match, the tracks have linked.

Sometimes, you may also meet problem like ‘Spotiy won’t open’, here is the solution.
