I believe you meant to ask which is faster / better, Wimax or 4G technology. Broadband technology isn't hardware dependent because it’s a protocol standard therefore you must be asking about the protocol standard and not the device itself.
In our experience Wimax has lots to offer, it is spread wide, affordable and extremely efficient whereas 4G broadband is dependent on cell phone technology provision. That is to say that 4G is provided by cell phone companies like Sprint and AT&T while Wimax is usually directly linked to an internet backbone which makes it faster.
Of course both technologies have its negative sides as well. Wimax may be affected depending on the landscape, trees and mountains while 4G technology is dependent on a tower proximity.
Bottom line, Wimax is a better choice and its better for Internet service.
