In security section of you device, go on Encrypt external SD card to start encrypting process of your sd card and follow the further instructions. Before you start the whole process, be sure to set a six digit password as the screen lock. The whole process will last about 20 minutes for 4GB sd card or more if it is 8,16,35GB... When the SD is encrypted you will get the notification on the status bar.
