eWallet lets you send money to anybody with a valid South African cellphone number. No bank accounts necessary, the money is transferred, and is available immediately and can be used access a number of FNB’s services including, withdrawing cash from FNB ATMs, buying prepaid airtime or electricity.
Opening up a world of banking possibilities, their eWallet product lets you send money via an FNB ATM; no application or registration necessary. Send Money via FNB Cellphone Banking, just register for Cellphone Banking; you can also send money via Online Banking, just register for Online Banking. To deposit cash into an eWallet at FNB ATM with automated deposits (ADT), you need a valid South African Cellphone number. If you are not a customer and but would still like to deposit cash into an eWallet at an FNB ADT, you need to register at any of FNB’s Easyplan branches. All you need to do is take along your green bar-coded ID document and follow a simple once-off registration process.
As a recipient, you can send a portion of the funds to another cellphone; you can also withdraw all or some of the cash from the eWallet, without the need of a bank card, at any one of the FNB ATMs. Your eWallet can also be used to pay for goods and services online from the eWallet using Cell Pay Point.
Clients can now also send money using their Credit Card to anyone with eWallet. You can send money at all First National Bank ATMs and Online Banking.
