If by internet drive, you mean a cellular broadband USB adapter. The best thing you can do is to be in good line of sight of your service providers antenna location. Obviously this isn't always easy so being out in the open with as few things between you and a possible antenna location. Metal buildings and such are a no no as well.
In some cases these kinds of adapters also have an antenna on them and you can, very rarely get an aftermarket antenna for them but like I said, it's rare.
