VOIP is also known as broadband telephony. It is used for rooting voice conversations over the internet by converting telephonic signals into digital signals. Further, it transmits voice traffic over internet protocol based networks. It also controls the set up and tear down of calls as well as audio codecs by deploying a protocol known as session control protocol.
