The Amazon Fire 7 has a great amount of features from the Silk internet browser that allows you to add links into the Reading List feature as well as customize your news feed on the Silk homepage. Your main search engine is Bing.com which does not have the same benefits as Google.com such as the ability to open images in a new window and a subpar image search. The Kindle Fire 7, however, does offer a plethora of apps exclusive to Amazon customers such as the Amazon Newsstand app that offers digital magazine subscriptions at a discounted price than the publisher's websites and allows a free month subscription for various magazines within the store. There are apps to the Kindle bookstore that make it easier to access your reading library as well as an inclusion of the Good Reads app for further literary research and browsing. There are features that let you scroll from each side of the home screen and lets you store your book downloads, recent photos along with Amazon advertisements and recommendations based on past browsing history. It is the complete experience for Amazon users to give them easy access to the Amazon marketplace and easy storage of their data.

Phone or Device Usage
The device is set up as your own personal workstation bringing all of your Amazon accounts and services into one easy accessible space to move between. On the homepage you will see the Silk browser that has instant access to the Bing search engine when you type or paste a search in the address bar. Additional apps from Amazon include Kindle Books, Audible, Amazon Newsstand, the App Store and an app that takes you directly to the Amazon marketplace with easier access to created shopping lists and favorites. There is an Amazon Photos app that lets you automatically upload hundreds of photos at a time to the cloud without slowing down your device when in use. Aside from creating an interactive space for loyal Amazon users the device is customizable with compatible apps, additional memory and features.

Likes
I like that this is a device I can use for a specifically Amazon based experience. When I want easy access to all of my Amazon services I can switch to my Kindle 7 tablet and access my Amazon marketplace history, lists and stored accounts. I have access to the various free trial subscriptions Amazon offers for each of its programs. I like that Amazon provides me with additional apps to access my email provider through a desktop widget. However, my favorite feature, which I spend a lot of time on, is the photo album which allows me to store thousands of photos without taking up space on my device as all data can be fully uploaded to the Amazon cloud and retrieved through the desktop app when online for ease and convenience.

Dislikes
I hate that the device deters its users from enjoying certain apps that are competitors within Amazon's main markets. You will not find apps in Amazon's app store from direct competitors of the Amazon brand such as the book reading subscription service Scribd. Likewise you will have a hard time adjusting if you were a fan of any search engine site other than Bing.com which doesn't have the same features or ease of use as Google.com. You will also find the ever present advertisements from Amazon on your home screens irritating and more invasive as the device will not fully feel like your own unique space. Lastly, the camera quality is incredibly poor and lacks the ability to take a clean and crisp picture as all photos are extremely blurry. You will have to upload from a different camera if you wish to have quality photos.

Suggestions
I would suggest that users invest in an Amazon Kindle merely as a device that gives you easier access to the Amazon brand. The camera is not worth using as the photos produced are of very poor resolution. This would also be a tablet that I use for side use as it can slow down in speed if you install too many apps and are urged by advertisements and pop ups to pay for additional memory and storage. It is customizable based on the apps available to the device but many of the popular apps people enjoy using are not available through the Amazon app store including the original Youtube app.

Many of the Amazon Fire 7 features make it a fun place to have all of the Amazon services in one place at your fingertips. However, when it comes to general usage and having access to a wide array of programs and media the Amazon Kindle Fire 7th Generation falls short. It is best to use other devices for specific android apps such as Gmail, Scribd, Youtube and Google Play. Likewise because the camera is not up to speed it is better to find a device that has better access to digital photos, uploads, video and better quality audio. For the price a price of $100 and less the Kindle is a very affordable device with features that will get you by if you are looking to have some fun mainly with Amazon apps. As a multi-purpose device I cannot recommend it.
