LG has one of the worst records when it comes to updating devices to the latest version, untimely updates are seemingly par for the course when it comes to LG devices however much like Samsung did with Android 4.2.x LG plans to ignore Android 4.3 and jump straight to Android 4.4 on the following devices:
Optimus F3, Optimus F6, G Pad 8.3, G Pro Lite, Optimus F7, LG D315, LG LS740, Optimus L9 II, Optimus Vu II, Vu III, and of course the G Flex. This is a brave move from LG who no doubt will have kept an eye on Samsung’s rollout and will be aiming to beat them wherever possible as the two rivals go at it for the user head counts.
If you’re an LG user who happens to own ones of those phones you will surely be over the moon as kitkat brings a range of new features and improves the entire eco system as a whole providing that is that they don’t bog it down with there own skin of course!

Who else is rocking kitkat right now ?
LG, Samsung, Motorola, HTC, Oppo -> Cyanogenmod, Sony. Pretty much any vendor with a flagship. The thing to understand about kitkat is that despite what you may hear from enthusiastic posters is 4.4 (kitkat) is not a MAJOR upgrade, a lot has changed but mostly in the optimizing the code area. The reason people and manufacturers are being pushed to and jumping upon this upgrade is it’s memory footprint is tiny means older devices attain a new lease of life and newer devices become quicker from one upgrade..
LG are smart to have skipped 4.3.x to concentrate on 4.4 however 4.3 should have been in the think tank way earlier. Samsung have in effect from ignoring 4.2 had to push out 4.3 on devices (which is happening right now, started last month) and at the same time quickly follow this up with 4.4 because skipping again more so the KK update would be horrid PR
shockingly people are starting to care about the software on their devices – who would have thought
