iPhone 6 may produce a phablet sized device. | Telecom Consumer Discussion Forums

The iPhone 6 is a curious device the rumour mill has not really been kicking out too much as I think there is little else they can really add to this device in terms of ‘new stuff’ sure we will see updated cpu, gpu specs which in usual apple style will introduce an above 40% clock cycle usage but is the iPhone 6 really going to be the device that everyone will be talking about upon release ?

The only big rumours right now suggest that apple may ditch that 4″ form factor in favour of a 4.7″ device alongside a 5.7″ device I would take these rumours with a massive grain of salt a good deal of folks do buy the iPhone due to it’s size it’s sleek in the hand and comfortable.

I do however expect to see an updated 5c being introduced, probably just adding more rainbow colours but hopefully the camera will see a big improvement as they have in many respect stook the iPhone 5 out of it’s sleek metal shell and stuck it in plastic with a few parts getting upgrades and others being downgraded. The traditional iPhone line I would image we will see the traditional sized device with possibly two additional sizes probably in the 5 and 5.5″ ratio given Apple an introduction into the Phablet market but Apple as many will know is not a huge fan of pushing multiple versions of the same product.

You only need look over the mac range to see two macbook pros, two power macs although all can be tweaked on purchase I just dont see it – if anything the iPhone 5c may just bite the bullet and become a yearly update keeping it two versions behind with the iPhone 6 seeing improvements in CPU, GPU, Camera, minor software updates, improvements to TouchID, Siri and two form factors – but then imagine how heavy a 5+ incher in apples metal design would be ..

HTC tried to enter the phablet market recently with the blown up version of the HTC One in the form of the HTC One Max and it was somewhat a laughable device in many respects similar to the Sony Xperia Z Ultra – Apple will be cautious of that and will need to keep it light but still in an Apple’esk design model – thoughts ?
