Movistar is the clear winner in numbers, but what does everyone else think? I’ve been in Buenos Aires for a long time and I first used a Personal chip but always ran into problems with the service. They always charged me for items I didn’t understand and anytime I wanted to change my plan or service it took me months.

In numbers, Movistar has the highest turnover and consumption per customer. It must be for a reason. Ever since I switched to Movistar my life has been a little easier, at least in the cellphone sense.

Opinions?

Reading your post, I wonder why you couldn`t change sooner for Movistar, if the other provider wasn`t playing fairly. Perhaps, was it a subscription signed for two years? In Europe, you have signed such as a subscription, you will have to pay a lot of money to get rid of your provider, before the deadline of your agreement

Well, there is a general consensus in Argentina that everyone is out to rip you off, and it is far from the truth. When I signed a deal with personal, literally, the contract was: free texts, wifi 1 peso a day, 130 minutes, 300 pesos. So my bills, using internet every day, should have been between 328-331 pesos a month or less. BTW, I never make phone calls so my minutes were never used up. I would have bills come in that were

1: 330

2: 320

3: 467

4:559

5:330

6: 420

So I never knew how they were getting these numbers. You call, and no one can explain, or they BS you saying “you went over the 130 minutes” but I NEVER talk on the phone so I know they are lying.

Anyway, I switched to an unlimited account on Movistar. It’s a lot more expensive but at least the bill is always the same.
