Not long ago Telus was blocked from purchasing Mobilicity by the Canadian government due to competition issues. However, it appears that Wind Mobile may now be interested in merging and could be more successful in merging compared to Telus. I have to say that I’m often not a fan of mergers as they tend to take customer choice away and competition is generally more stifled. However at the same time, I’m not sure how far we should allow governments to interfere in business. I feel as if we need some regulation due to the fact that there’s only so much wireless spectrum available.

Similarly to you, I`m skeptical about the merging procedures, mostly if one of the company is trouble, but it`s a common practice worlwide
In my country, when merging occured, the existing portofolio of customers wsd preserved, as well as their original phone numbers, being offered special offers, in order to avoid the migration to other provider
