A couple of years ago, I bought an AT&T phone and switched to the company as my provider.
The next day, I returned the phone and canceled my contract. They charged me a $35 restocking fee, which I thought was ridiculous. However, that was nothing compared to what happened next.
Twelve months later I started receiving phone calls saying that I owed them over $500. I spent hours trying to prove that I had no contract with them anymore and that I had returned my phone and canceled the contract the day after I bought the phone. After calling the store’s manager directly, and three-way calling AT&T collectors, the manager admitted the mistake and said it would be fixed.
This year I got a credit check, which stated that I owed hundreds of dollars to AT&T. It was never fixed, and once again, I had to spend hours on the phone trying the settle the matter. I cannot express how much I hate this company and DO NOT recommend it to anyone.
