Although it sounds as an unrealisitc promotion, I took advantage of it one year ago.

I needed urgently a new laptop, since the old one was severly broken and unable to help at work, so I stepped to a Vodafone shop and signed for a 2-year contract for an Asus X55A, estimated at 55EURO along with an extraoption of 15EURO and the job was doneLaugh

by laptop do you mean 3g dongle as an entire laptop for 50 ish euros seems insanely cheap.

Apparently, it was cheap, but that contract was a 2-year one, so 55 EURO per month, which kind of making me wonder what was in mindLaugh

there in the philippines, promotions like that are tie-up with service providers and not the laptop brand manufacturer.  either you sign-up for 2-year contract and get a laptop or tablet with wifi device, etc.

at least, you know from the start that are you signing for, I was quite amazed to see that things weren`t as I expected, but hopefully for me time elapsed so fast that I didn`t notice when my contract was over.

a lady from Orange called me to offer me a similar promotion for a tablet and I said No. It`s wiser to buy it from a traditional retailer and use a wifi connection on the go, rather than buying an expensive package for internet connection

55 euros for a fully working laptop? Surely this isn’t the best of laptops?

I prefer to own the device outright gives me more to work with when looking at a package.

No, it was a common Asus netbook with a single-core, reliable Intel graphics and Windows 7 Starter. But the 2-year contract for it was the bombLaugh

A touch too pricey for myself.. I am kinda cheap in that regards .. not overly keen on contacts unless required.
