So you thought only you could send messages to other cell phones? Experts in Germany are on the way to unleash new technology wherein the cars can send messages to other cars. The vehicles would be able to share information through the radar , sonar and laser sensors installed in them. Yes, this would be a possibility, five to seven years from now. Imagine, how this would make our lives easier without any hassles like being stuck in the traffic lights. This will also make the roads much safer to drive. Technology will enable cars to talk to the traffic signal as well. This communication would help the signal to effectively manage and maximise the traffic flow. This makes me think, why would there be any need for a traffic signal when we could easily skip the signals if cars could communicate to each other and skip the traffic. But, it could also prove to be a safety hazard for pedestrians crossing the road who might not have a mobile phone. The smart, networked roads and vehicles can prove to be a boon or a bane. Let’s see how the future of roads turns out to be!
