Just saw this article from an ezine called Digital Trends.

The iPhone is the expensive phone of choice in India, but Android phones are still crushing it

Here’s just the first paragraph of the article, makes for interesting reading.
 
Apple’s iPhone is gaining popularity in India, helping the company become the number one premium device manufacturer there. It has 62 percent market share among devices that cost more than $450, the figure used to denote the premium space, according to data presented by market research company Counterpoint.

India is a good market for both rival brands, but I think China is what each of them desires to conquer instead of the competitor

iOS was quite popular during last years, it seems Android has started to recover the lost time starting with last year
