If you’re thinking about traveling to Morocco and visiting the desert, I assume most tourists that visit Morocco like to experience the life in the desert and ride camels. So if you’re planning to do the same and you want to use a local phone service provider, I suggest using Maroc Telecom because not only it’s the most commonly used, but it has a vast network throughout the country, it’s the oldest company in Morocco so they had more time spreading their network towers in the unreachable corners of the country. By using their services, you won’t have a problem with signals if you’re outside of the cities.

Thanks for the details! Indeed Morocco is a wonderland, that has to be visited one time in your life
Can you give me some rates? For example, how much would cost a prepay SIM card with minimal benefits?

I think prepaid SIM Maroc Telecom 3G is the best one and it’s 50dh (approx €5) for a week of internet and or 200dh for a month. Maroc Telecom gives its customers the top up in bonus SMS and MMS. So if you recharge 200 MAD you will receive a package of 200 SMS or MMS on top of the mobile credit bonus.
PS: Keep in mind that these services (SMS and MMS) work only in Morocco.

Thanks for your detailed explanation!
That`s exactly what I`m looking for in my trips, I can use my contract to call back in my own country, if there is an emergency, but mostly I need a local telecommunication solution to enjoy my staying.
I`m happy to find out that in Morocco, rates are affordable, if you ever think of visiting Romania, you will benefit of similar promotions from Orange or Vodafone, the only difference there are few international minutes or SMS included (10 or even 15)
