I have an unlimited plan with Sprint here in the US and was wondering if anyone could tell me if my free international long distance really is free? Sprint says yes, but I am not so sure I believe them especially when it comes to my billing. I have been making several international calls due to the winter Olympics starting and am afraid to see my bill next month.

Not is free on this world, honestly check the information, otherwise you will have an extra cost, that might make you cry
I live in Europe, indeed there are some discounts offered by carriers for international calls, in addition to the few international minutes included in your contract (the average is 20 min), but I haven`t seen an unlimited plan, much more for free

Don’t they have an online program where you can check how much you’re spending? I don’t use Sprint and I don’t even live in the US, but I think the best option you have is to go the agency and ask for the bill, you don’t want to be surprised at the end of the month.Good luck.
Do they? I haven’t heard of an online program like that yet, but it sounds like a good idea! I’m going to have to look into it because a surprise in my bill won’t be taken very well.

I figure that you’re asking this because you want to save money. Skype and Google Voice are practically free but with limited options. It works if other people have accounts made with those services. Otherwise, you could save a lot of money by paying around $10/monthly give or take for Skype calling credit (which REALLY goes a long way).

It might be worth asking your mobile phone network if the international calls have “flag falls.”
I’m from the UK and currently live in Australia, and as such call the UK often, which means I had to choose a network that provided me with cheap international calls. The network I’m on provides relatively cheap calls to the UK, and occasionally offers “free” calls to landlines, but with a FLAG FALL of $0.29 per call. It might be worth checking to see if your network does something similar.

Skype is a really good option, I use to call internationally sometimes, when the local providers have high prices. it takes me around 5$ to make a call and say what I wanted to say, 5$ at a time.

Sound like a good idea. But do you know about your fimiliar person who took benefit using this sprint offer. I think it does not a reliable offer just a scard. So, when you stay in UK if they services not available what’s your duty that time. So, configure your mobile connection with reliable operator and collect correct information from this brand.

The telcos offered free international calls to certain countries for free and the number must be land line. The catch is that as long as you are their customers, they will have a way to get it free for you.

I called only once from Telekom – prepay and it was indeed free – i had international minutes included in my prepay plan – confirm from Romania
Telekom includes this special feature, that was somehow adopted by Orange and Vodafone, with the difference that the minutes offered are reduced, up to 10-15 international minutes
On the other hand, Orange created a special postpaid subscription for customers interested to talk and write to their relatives abroad, called Flamingo. For 10 euros, you can get 100 international minutes and messages and some internet traffic, as far as I remember, up to 500MB
