IBM is investing an additional 3 billion USD into their Internet of Things project. For those that don’t know, Internet of Things is a project that IBM initiated to advance the use of internet connectivity and networking into anything that’s practical to do so. This means that you would have a building that can sense the temperature outside, inside, in each room, etc, and report it back to the Internet, this goes for people’s homes and appliances as well. I like the project as a whole but at the same time I wonder if we can go too far with networking appliances and people’s cars to the global network, as too much control could mean that malicious users could cause physical damage and harm.

I presume the Internet of Things will develop and will include some other features than sensing the temperature, after all it`s named The Internet of Things, not only one thing

I`m thinking of a infrastructure connecting companies, customers, providers, something more interactive and faster than cloud services
