I ran across this article, it states that the Internet is going to run out of capacity possibly within the next five years if we don’t develop better ways to make more efficient use of fiber optic networks. Primarily this is caused by the ever increasing amount of digital media that we are consuming world wide, especially in the United States. I don’t know how I feel about this, I know we have technological limitations, but we also have companies that haven’t been investing enough into Internet infrastructure, and by that I mean more dense fiber installations. I would see it as a terrible thing if we eventually heavily capped our internet connections to a point that they weren’t as usable as they are today.
