While I thought their endeavors were entirely related to launch vehicles for space tourism and supply missions, the company now seems to be taking aim at low orbit broadband. Elon Musk has mentioned interest in deploying up to 4000 ‘small and cheap’ satellites to provide wireless broadband services to rural areas in Africa and other countries possibly. How they plan to do this exactly I’m not sure, but it’s still interesting regardless. I however do feel that they should have focused on their primary business venture and not tried to get into other unnecessary venues.
