Although I’m really happy with Virgin Media, I’m considering getting Fibre Optic to try it out and see if it’s better than my current Super Hub on Virgin Media, but I need to know if it’s any good before I get it.

Is anyone currently using it? What are your thoughts?

I have heard that the fiber optic systems are much faster and much more reliable. We are getting it in our area soon and I might actually switch even though I really like my comcast internet.

I have heard of them too and I read that there are only a handful of companies in the world who provide Fibre Optics and One of them is Google in the name Google Fiber.

fibre optic is not old, not even close it’s currently the best way to transmit data at massive speed ratios – real fibre optic is still being deployed in many places around the world in PH it’s only done in the business district.

Does it really justify it’s cost? I am not sure what kind of money is charged for an Internet connection over fiber optic cable but I am sure it would be quite costly.

in many cases, yes, if you NEED that much bandwidth, the throughout on those lines is quite impressive.

Google have a project in the United States called Google Fibre .. while the details will likely not be the same case for all of you it does offer an insight into the technical aspects of Fibre optics https://fiber.google.com/about/ give it a read and it will perhaps give you a better understanding of why Fibre is not old nor useless and certainly super super quick.

Fiber optics is an old technology. It was first used in the early 1920’s and has been used in many children’s toys for decades. The practical use of it for communication service began in the 1970’s in America.
