personal opinion it is more of the urge and being up-to-date that makes iphone users download the latest version asap (as soon as it is launched) rather than the urgent need/ usage for it. said reason i believe is more powerful than the later making ios very, very successful. who is not a self-confessed updated ios version addict? everyone right?

anything below the iphone 4s should try avoid ios7 for as long as possible, applications in the very near future however may explicitly require it so at some stage you may have to update. The original poster mentioned the phone gets slower after updates.
This can be explained simply by the fact that as the operating system gets more mature and new items are added while in some areas resource usage goes down in others areas it simply has to go up so your ios is using far more of the GPU than it had done previously due to the weird and oddball array of effects found in iOS 7

Not only update software you should update the hardware too
Normally I would agree but not in the case of the iPad 2 – iPad 3, discontinued, iPad 4, discontinued the only two apple are selling right now are the iPad 2 and the iPad Air so the iPad 2 is still very relevant.. until the iPad Air 2 comes out .. then it will likely be killed off.

that why we haven’t updated our ipad2. my husband said if we update it with a newer version, it will be slower….
That was some time ago, your iPad does in fact run the latest version of iOS after extensive testing.. or so your husband told me

Hello everyone. I’ld like to say first I own a iPad minI and a iPhone 4.My Ipad mini is a first generation iPad mini and I waited almost a year before updaying it. I did this same thing with my iPhone. I do this because it allows the OS time to get the glitches out without messing up my devices. However I have older technology that would have been messed up if the coding was made only for newer models somy skepticism is normal. Those of you whom have Siri on your phones should not need as much caution.
