A bit of water is OK. But if it is definitely not water proof. Once dip in water and the litmus paper inside turn color, the warranty will be void.

Unfortunately, none of iPhones released so far have entered the era of waterproof units, although there are some Android-based models extremely reliable from this point of view, such as Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z3 or HTC Desire Eye
Probably the upcoming iPhone will solve this issue, so that iPhone users don`t have to worry about liquid accidents

It is a tricky issue. Apple so far has not address this issue yet. They are good in software but not hardware unlike Samsung or Sony.

I could add to your affirmation that Apple is too proud of being Apple
Why transforming iPhone into a waterproof gadget when millions of feverish fans buy it in the first hours, since it`s launched?
From my point of view, the revolution starts with the customers themselves, they have to ask more from Apple, like the waterproof feature, not getting satisfied with a camera boost or an improved operating system. Ironically, iPhone 6 has just an 8MP camera, when some Android model reached the level of 21MP camera, because Android customers are willing to have something more

Apple has some die hard fans who are willing to compromise with the features given. They are really good at the OS and software but lack the expertise in the hardware. Furthermore, so many are waiting to hand their cash to them just to get the gadget.

I could bet that for the upcoming iPhone, the waterproof will be omitted, instead Apple is likely to boost its camera. It`s quite embarassing that some Android-based smartphone feature a 21MP camera, while Apple remained in the era of 8MP
I think Apple will neglect the waterproof neccessity, based on a simple reduction: If only few Androids have waterproof option, why should we install it? On the other hand, if many Androids increased the performance of camer, it`s a must-have for us

Apple is not ready going to do anything to waterproof it. If you dip it in water, then you may not be able to start up you phone. This usually do not happen to a Android phone and I wonder WHY?
