As many know, MSN was shut-down and replaced by Skype. There aren’t many major changes, but I felt more comfortable using MSN and felt it was generally better. I remember the exciting group calls we used to have, but now Skype just doesn’t bring that excitement.

What are your thoughts? Skype or MSN?

I used a little bit both of them, but none was my favorite, which is Hangouts, the replacement of Gtalk. At first sight, Skype seems to be more interactive and reliable, while performing video calls

I used MSN in all of my teenage years, and switched back to Skype because it had better video call options and it was overall better than MSN. I would never go back to using MSN again if it was still operating, Skype is my pick.

MSN is theoretically dead, since it merged into Skype, but the feeling is the same:)

Similarly to you, MSN was a must-have when I was a teenager, now Skype or Hangouts tend to offer the sensation of a more professional service

I never used MSN Yahoo Messenger or anything else. Never had any interest in them, because I had always used Skype.

Frankly, I tell everyone I know about Skype – it’s an ideal way to talk long-distance without wasting minutes, whether you want to do voice only or also have a video call.

I will say that I don’t care for Skype’s customer service – they make it very, very difficult to contact them. (I had an issue with a phone number I’d ordered but then, minutes later, discovered I didn’t really need – a miscommunication between me and my boss) and it took way too long to get that sorted out.

But overall, Skype is the way to go!

For me, it’s definitely MSN and I don’t think anything else has, or will replace it.

I found it user friendly, easy to start up, quick and real time, with no delays between messages and quite frankly, I wish we could have it back!

I’m curious…did you try Skype also and find MSN superior?

I’ve found no message delays with Skype, and I”m on it all the time.

Admittedly, I’ve yet to figure out how to get it to work on my tablet!, but it works on my PC just fine!

I have rarely used MSN. I have always been a fan of Skype. It’s so easy to chat or make calls using it. I can’t even imagine using any other chat application.

Lately, I noticed there is a shortcut in your hotmail or outlook account. I dont`t use that account often, but this detail is useful, I can uninstall the app from my desktop and starting chatting directly from inbox, something similar to Gmail experience

With my note 2 u tried both skype and MSN for voice chat and both were equally disappointing with skype taking the lead. Only recently  I tried Google hangouts and it works great with amazing call quality and video chat. Recommended

My vote stays with Skype as I have lost my MSN password and unable to recover it anymore. It’s been 7-8 years since I stopped using MSN and migrated to Skype.

Yes, Skype is the best method of communication. But Line is a bigger threat to it. Most of Asia residents will denfinetly have the Line but not necessary Skype. Line offered more products than just talk and message.

Best Regards

Similarly, in Europe Line, Viber or Telegram tend to challenge the supremacy of Skype

The major disadvantage here is that the market is fragmented, Skype seemed to be a must-have, because there was no other alternative. Now, that there are more possiblities to use, European customers prefer to try everything to see how it worksWink
