Smartphone Model: Iphone 4
Location: Stockton, Australia
subject: Shipwreck
Flash: No Flash
HDR: Off

This photo is of a shipwreck of the ‘Adolphe’, who met her demise in 1904 after running aground during a big storm that smashed her into the rocks. Amazingly none of the crew lost their lives, all were rescued safely. She has sat in the same location off Stockton beach ever since, and is actually sitting on top of 2 other ships that sunk in the same place after meeting a similar fate. A breakwall/boardwalk was built to incorporate the ships and history of the wrecks and now provides protection to the Newcastle harbour, and is also a popular fishing spot!

Taken mid afternoon, sun high in the sky, light was very bright. Camera autofocused on the subject.

That’s an awesome picture, not the greatest quality but when we’re talking about cameras on smartphones, you can’t go wrong with the quality it has. You can see a bit of noise distortion but that’s to be expected from any smartphone camera.

Brilliant setting for a picture too, that shipwreck looks amazing and seems like it has a lot of history behind it too.

I never owned an iphone 4 so I haven’t been able to test out the quality of the camera so it’s nice to see it in action.

Great photo!

I wish I could see more pictures like this, usually people avoid to immortalize shipwrecks, considering they aren`t interesting or they bring bad luck. Each shipwrech has a story, mostly remaining untold, so your initiative is praiseworthySmile

That really is a nice photo! I get the comment about higher def, but I think the colors look pretty vibrant regardless. I never knew that photographing shipwrecks was bad luck – for who? I mean the folks on the boat were already pretty unlucky. Did your phone do anything weird after you snapped the pic? :)

Hey this pic is simply superb keeping in mind that it is taken with iPhone 4. I find it better than many current generation smartphones. Word of caution i am just comparing the phones that cost the same as the present day iPhone 4 cost. Smile

It’s not very clear. There are some noise and blur parts on the photo. Change your IP4 to IP5S mate ^^
