If you are travelling to Romania and don`t feel like signing a contract for telecommunication services (which will be undoubtedly designed for at least 12 months, although you are leaving sooner the country), the best for you would be to buy a prepaid SIM card

In the majority of hypermarkets, you don`t even need to show your passport, to get one. Once you activate it, be sure to charge at least 5EURO to be sure you will receive more benefits. For instance, in Orange network, if you charge 6EURO for 30 days you will benefit of 3000 minutes available for calls in the network, unlimited messages as well and 200MB of internet traffic. If you select the option European Union, you will receive 150 international minutes to be used in your favorite destination, any country of the Union

All Mobile service providers, give you 2 options either to do a phone subscription over 12 or 24 months or to buy a prepay card almost from everywhere!! Supermarkets, Their own shops, or any other private shop that have a link with the telecommunications provider!

the inconvenience is that, every one of the main players on the market offers you a wast amount of minutes within the internal network, but you do not really have to many options to communicate with people using other networksFrown( a few minutes at most)

When trying to communicate abroad, without roaming you get from Orange at least the chance to contact people from E.U, USA, Canada on their fix phone, with around 150 minutes!( unfortunately those minutes are the same for communicating within other network inside the country..Yell too bad)

Being a Complete union with an unique market and currency, I think We should have a unique communicating array of networks with options of communicating with everybody! Cool

Indeed, inside European Union, we should have a common market for telecommunication, let`s see whether the official reduction of roaming taxes in EU will be effectively implemented starting with this month

I have a feeling, some retailers won`t like the looks of it and try to keep, under new shapes, the same incredible taxes on EU destinations
