So the latest news is that Samsung has opted to go with Synaptics again for it’s Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 range, Synaptics are the company behind the touch controller for the previous range of devices that support things like Airview.
Several media outlets suggest that Synaptics have improved in 3 key areas that have swayed Samsungs decision the first is lower costs as they are now using a printing medium which does not require the usual process (which can be costly(templating)
The second (and third) is the increased range of which the touch sensor will work allowing a great distance from the screen to be used so no more trying to get that perfect range without actually touching the screen – furthermore and the third point is the improvement of s-pen touch which will work with anything down to as tiny a point of 2.5pi which is insanely small and also implies that the spen may itself see a bit of slimming going on.
whats your thoughts on the latest news related to the S5 ? anything here that makes you say “i want it!” ?
